Dive 1

Undisclosed Location

This was our first dive of the day in Cairns! We took the dive boat out and went through some very prolonged lectures about the dive site…What to look out for, what is dangerous… etc. It was about an hour and a half to get out to the first site! Luckily neither of us got sea sick because we chose to buy the natural ginger sea sickness remedy… Except Forest for some reason thought you were supposed to chew it…and me being in love and trusting him chose to do the same… Silly us. It tasted like poison. Anyway, un-seasick, we got through all the lectures, had our morning tea and started to suit up as we got close to the reef. We had to wear a silly stinger suit since it was jelly season, it had silly little gloves, booties and a hood. This dive started off in super choppy water. Forest almost threw up in the water waiting for the rest of our dive group to get in. Once we were actually able to submerse, things got a lot better. We did a guided dive around the reef and saw many beautiful little fishes and some really cool reef life. I particularly liked the little anemone things that would retreat when you snapped at them! All in all it was a fairly uneventful yet still very beautiful dive!

Dive 2

Turtle Bay

Our second dive of the day was a little more exciting than the first. There was more to see, plus we went unguided. It was fun but I think I have to much trust in my love because we ended on the far side of the reef and when we surface and come back to the boat he discloses… “Oh ya i kind of got lost along the way!” But cheers to him because we saw a turtle thank to his navigation. It was really fun to navigate the reef by ourselves though. It was one of my favorite dives. Plus my goal was to see a turtle.. and Check Mark.. so yay!

Dive Boat

Took this amazing boat out to the reef… Took about an hour to get there. But so worth it. BUT… got very burnt on the way back…woops
